g-vectoring control (GVC)

More connected in the curves

In pursuit of perfecting the driving dynamics of our Mazda vehicles, we developed SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS with G-Vectoring Control (GVC), a new technology to help achieve a smoother, and less fatiguing drive. 

The system works seamlessly by controlling the G-forces going through the car while in motion by shifting the gravitational forces, this lets you enjoy both city driving and twisty roads with confidence. Why do we obsess over subtle improvements? Because we believe that by refining even the smallest of details, we can make driving better.

Cornering

When cornering, GVC helps smoothing the transitions between the G-forces and helps alleviate steering corrections. This process suppresses the swaying of head and body experienced by vehicle occupants that will reduce motion sickness as well as improve passenger ride comfort.
Changing Lane

GVC simultaneously enhances handling and stability by optimizing the vertical load on the tires depending on driving conditions, thus this also helps in stabilizing the vehicle during evasive manoeuvres. The system offers an enhanced feeling of the tires gripping the road, giving the driver and passengers a greater sense of security.

A next-generation car connectivity system that enables you to safely enjoy the convenience of your smartphone while in your car
  • Enables the use of a variety of website applications and services such as AhaTM by linking with your smartphone.
  • The in-vehicle software can be updated to support additional functions and evolving smartphone operating systems so that it will never go out-of-date.
  • A flexible hardware structure featuring a module unit for each function allows the system to meet a wide range of needs flexibly.
  • Moving forward, the range of applications and services available with the system will be expanded.

THE FUTURE OF SKYACTIV

 Introducing the revolutionary SKYACTIV-X engine
The revolutionary SKYACTIV-X engine, due to be released in 2019, will be the world’s first commercial gasoline engine to run on compression ignition. Using innovative technology, Mazda has combined the power of a high-revving gasoline engine and the fuel efficiency of a diesel. The Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI) improves engine efficiency by up to 20-30 percent over the current SKYACTIV-G engines.

These advances in engine technology will play a significant part in Mazda’s ‘Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030’ vision. With the release of SKYACTIV-X, reducing carbon dioxide emissions to 50 percent of 2010 levels by 2030 and 90 percent by 2050 will be an achievable goal.
